Designed by Amelia Hyde Center and unveiled at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair to gold-medal acclaim, this flag flew over Minnesota until its revision in 1958 (and again in 1983). The flag has been criticized for overcomplexity, misrepresentation of history, and similarity to other state flags.
